Hi everyone,
especially those who have been in Chinese Metaphysics for quite some time,
would you mind sharing your favourite quotes or personal words of encouragement in this post?
What kind of things inspire you in your daily life?

Any type, any kind.
Would really appreciate it Smiley

Hi zhouyi,

I'm sorry i can't read chinese characters Tongue
I asked my friend to translate it, he said,
"to set position for sky and land, the hills create fresh air".

Would you mind explaining the meaning further?

Hi again, zhouyi,
if you don't mind me asking,
how does this sentence affect your life and inspire you?
In what way?

Hi quills and zhouyi,

If you don't mind me sharing my thoughts on the 8 characters zhouyi mentioned.

For yi-jing,
The 1st 4 characters:
Sky is yang element in the 8 gua and the land is the ying element in the 8 gua, they are just the opposite of each other , so a yang and ying combine will become balance.

The last 4 characters:
Hills is ying element in the 8 gua and the marsh is the yang element in the 8 gua, they are also the opposite of each other,so when a ying and yang come together , it will become balance.

In order to neutralize something bad for us, we  need something to help us.

Using Yi-jing context
Eg. Marsh is metal. Hill is earth. In the cycle of producing, Fire will attack  metal when there is no earth. In order to prevent the marsh from being attacked, we need to add hill.
Thus fire will produce earth(hill), earth will produce metal(marsh) , instead of fire attack earth straight away.

Therefore we say san zhe tong qi( the last 4 characters) ,  thus the cycle is complete and achieve balance.

So I will say it is quite important as we need to achieve a balance and neutralize the situation, and the last 4 characters fits the scenerio.

Just my thoughts =)
