Is fengshui a form of magic work???

I would like to share my views.  Feng Shui (as a layman terminology for Chinese Metaphysics) is not magic per se but looks like magic because most of the cause-and-effect are invisible to the naked eye.  Due to such a nature, the different camps has been giving Feng Shui different names to suit their marketing strategy.

The anti-Feng Shui camp will call it hogwash, trying to use scientific methodologies to disprove it.  To me what is real may not be science.  So using scientific methodologies to disprove Feng Shui is like asking a scientist to appreciate a piece of art work using scientific angles of appreciation - the inappropriate choice of means naturally kills off the ends.

Another camp believes in the efficacy of Feng Shui but insists on using scientific methodologies to prove it because it is fundamentally sound, attractive and fashionable to their followers and fans.     I am all for the use of scientific methods to prove that a Feng Shui method work but we must always remember the reverse is not always true - ie anything not being able to be proven using scientific method are not necessarily placebo or unreal.

I prefer to look at Chinese Metaphysics as an observation science or even non-mainstream statistical methods.  Afterall, the pro-science group never challenge the pro-statistics group to use scientific methodologies to prove why certain groups conform to the different frequency of distribution like the Poisson, Lamda and Bell-Shaped.  They should lay off their calls to prove Feng Shui using science.

This free flowing energy, which is not contained in a physical format,is called qi by the chinese. Different labels have been assigned to the process of directing energy by people who have found a procedure that works for them. Some advance energy worker can even direct these forces by intention and seal it with some secret symbols. These are more like holy men who have master their energy body and can perform miracle at willed. Many even claimed that by calling out the name of their Gods and state their request miracle will happened.

Naturally they are many groups who differential themself under various name out there offering their service claiming to be master in these field.

Because this qi is invisible to the naked eye and not yet detectable by the current measuring instrument, it is not fully understood by the common people.

Fortunaly most clients do not really know or care what energy is at work but are contented that somehow their suituation improved after a audit or blessing from this master and naturally credited it to them.

Regardless of it forms it is still tapping into an unseen forces that we hardly know of...
As for the effectiveness, it varied with different people. Some even suffered big losses

  Yes, I did ask you what prompted you to rant about FS but in another POLITE way i.e. "May I know what is your problem?" Sheesh, I am sorry you got defensive. I don't have any problems with feng shui but you seemed to have and that was why you were ranting. Forget it. I don't think you can help me if you are already ranting about feng shui; instead of looking at the positive side of feng shui.

A good start for friendly discussion is never to be defensive if one perceived the written words as some thing that was there in the first place. To have a friendly discussion, one should ask politely like I had done.

Look kika image if you take your friends shoe and putted it into your mouth and claimed that it is them who Striked it then your friends will have a hard time explaining themself out of it.

Problem and rant are the words you chose to expressed your feeling on your understanding of these post. It is not mine. Look around no one in this forum uses these words for expression but you. We cant stop you from having all this negative feeling in yourself in this situation...

If you look into my post which you have quoted again you will see that there is no mentioning of any name of fengshui school. It just lightly talked about the various method and group that is taping into these unseen forces for diverse used. There is no mentioning of F.S or any name calling.

How true are these varied with different people experienced and subjected to debate which is why i posted here.



When you asked a question  "May I know what is your problem?" and quote my whole post without politely explaining your understanding in it ... and it is hard to understand why out of the thousands of verb you chose to used the word "problem" as your Q. Why would a discussion  be a problem to anyone???
