Hullo,
Just a small tale of my own. In my old workplace (dont ask me where), I used to need to patrol a building of a few storeys. I was walking alone on the top storey when I smelt some shitty pungent smell. It was quite bad but I didnt think too much. I cursed under my breath. I realised something wrong when the smell followed me. I decided to act brave and went on my petrol. The smell followed me down the staircase to another floor. It was only when I went to another place where my colleague was that the smell went off.
Anyway, that was the only time. On/off, I will smell some overpowering flowery smell sometimes but would ignore it.
Guess some good friends around.

Hi Lukie,
It is possible. Each of our sense of smell is able to evoke strong emotional feelings but of course, the type and intensity differs from individual to individual. That's the reason why some fragrance, perfume manufacturer are said to be a must for attracting attention from members of the opposite sex.
At the same time, some overpowering perfume may be appealing to the wearer but is a put off for some people. I personally have experienced that many times being put off by the fragrance that some ladies wear when they walk past me.

Many people get confused over the difference between Eau de Perfum (EdP), Eau de Toilette (EdT) and Eau de Cologne (EdC). Because of the difference in the products ingredients the price between these can be considerable.
Most manufacturers of designer label perfumes and aftershaves provide various versions of each product. The difference between these is the concentration of the aromatic compounds that are contained within the finished scent.
The most concentrated of these is called 'Perfume Extract' (Extrait) where the aromatic compounds can be between 15% and 40%. That said you will rarely find this as it can iritate the skin it is so strong.
Eau de Parfum (EdP) is the next most concentrated and is also sometime known as Parfum de Toilette (PdT). The aromatic compounds for this fragrence are typically 15% but can range from 10% to 20%. It is sometimes listed as "eau de perfume" or "millésime".
Eau de Toilette (EdT) is the next strongest with a typical concentration of about 10%, but again this can range from between 5% to 15% of the aromatic compounds that give it its distinctive smell.
With a typical concentration of 5% (but again varying, this time between 3 and 8%) is Eau de Cologne (EdC). In this category you will find Chypre citrus type perfumes.Source: http://ezinearticles.com/?Whats-the-Difference-Between-EdP,-EdC-and-EdT&id=2403610

Hi remoteviewer
Instead of looking at "type", it is more on the scent. I believe some brand is too heavy on the scent that may irritates people. I do smell some perfumes that really stimulate my sinus makes me sneezing non-stop.. I prefer go by EDT type as it is not too strong and just nice.
