Hello all,

I was talking with my aunt & uncle about reincarnation and related topics this evening. Then I was reminded of the childhood dream I used to have. I'm just wondering whether anyone here has similar experience.

This dream happened at least twice or three times in my life, but only when I was living in my grandparents' place in Indonesia. I was really young at that time. The image looks like a bunch of messily knotted/entangled strings. I felt a lot of pressure in that dream, unable to breath and get out. It's almost like I had to find my way very hard to get out of the maze. It always gave very scared, uncomfortable feeling once I woke up.

My aunt said she dreamed of the same thing when she was a child, also at the same house. We often dreamed of this when we were sick and fragile.

I have to be grateful that I have stopped having this dream since...I've never seen a ghost yet, but my uncle has had several sightings of them since he was a boy. Perhaps for people who are unable to see, we remember it like that in our dream - as a series of tangled strings rather than the actual image? I'm usually afraid whenever we talk about this stuff, but it's also interesting to understand why this happened more than once...

Hi leecarrot, read this:

Obviously the Meng Po soup did not work 100% on you Smiley

But I kind of also seem to have vague images of my previous life at times.  Or some places or certain situations despite being there for the first time, seem unusually familiar.  I do believe we all had a previous life.

Hi Lcly,

Sorry, hope not to have send shivers down anyone's spine  Wink

Just wanted to share this common saying about the Meng Po soup and Nai He bridge.  Whether true or not, is up to each one of us to believe.  That's also why I still have not proceed to study on San Shi Shu 三世书also.  Partly because I find it spooky, partly I find it more important to cure the current life than to know the previous life.

Hi Ken, Icly77 & all,

Thank you Ken for sharing this wonderful legend. This is the first time I heard about it. To have this as the logical explanation for my dream is much better, and not as scary than to think it was caused by a ghost. So the Meng Po soup is named after the surname (Meng) of a grandmother who guards the bridge. Once we drink, all the sorrow, joy from the past life shall be cleaned and forgotten. I also wish the soup would have worked 100% for me Smiley.

It was funny to notice that during the discussion yesterday, my aunt was a little more critical regarding what actually happens once a person passes away. Whether the transition to rebirth is immediate, direct (because our mind is so attached to the wordly things). And whether for some people, there's period of transition to the underworld,  wondering around in the place considered to be their home. I guess we'll never really know, but I'm going pass this story about Meng Po soup and the bridge to my aunt  Cheesy.

I considered the reccuring dream too abstract and complex to explain, so I never told my grandmother about it. Other than this specific dream, any other dreams mostly have some people or a specific place that I'd recognize. This one is really a nightmare, because it felt like suffocating afterwards. Although I was told that there's a past regression hypnotherapy to reveal the past life, I don't need to know my past at this moment... I'm happy with my current family, especially so blessed to be brought up by my grandparents. I agree it is better to focus on improving the current life.

Thanks again Ken  :-)

Hi leecarrot,

Yes, I do read there and then about such things so I thought this is relevant to what you have brought up.

Are you more spiritually inclined?  Do you have your birthday and hour posted somewhere?

Hi Ken,

I always remember the help I received from this forum during my difficult time:
http://fengshuiforward.com/forum/index.php/topic,526.msg4527/
http://fengshuiforward.com/forum/index.php/topic,727.msg6402/

DOB is Sep 14, 1982. Time: 12.15 pm - GMT +7  (Grandma always remember it as 27/7 in Lunar calendar). But in birth certificate, they recorded as Sep 22, 1982. For registration, or any formal purpose I would use this date. But for personal and friends, I always tell them my original date. It wasn't until in 1990s my grandmother looked up in her small booklet, and told me the original date.

I was interested in the Tarot cards during my teenage years. Although some friends thought it was accurate, I felt not qualified to offer advice without knowing their situations well. So it became only a hobby that I'll pick up only once in a while :-). Another strange hobby: I enjoyed going to the temple whenever my grandmother or mum offered me to go together. I love the atmosphere in the temple very much  Cheesy.

Then in 2004, I was looking for more answers and decided to understand more about Buddhism. But it was also the same year I met someone who would then become my first relationship. I was somehow too blinded by love... Only until last year- when he met someone else, I began to look into Chinese metaphysics after fruitless effort with the western astrology. I haven't stopped looking into this and Buddhism until now Smiley. Suppose I was still in a relationship, I don't think I would have this chance to learn. It opened my eyes to a lot of aspects of my personality that can be very demanding sometimes.

Thank you very much ^^

Hi leecarrot,

Thanks!  I am glad our forum have permanent members like you to spice up the discussion as well as share and exchange ideas.  I must say I am impressed that of late, your astrology reading skills have improved several notches.
It makes us proud to have homegrown talents like you!

The reason why I asked for your birthdate again is I can feel your spiritual and metaphysics inclination.  So I wanted to verify it against your chart again.

Your this real birth time chart reflects your potential well.  In this case, it also rubbished other theories about using the time in your birth certificate.  You have the potential for metaphysics.

Where are you living now?  You are not in your home country?

Hi Ken,

Thank you very much, you are the first to positively confirm this Smiley. I read about Tian Tong + Tian Liang has potential in spiritual arts before, but I didn't dare to conclude due to the star configuration & brightness in the other palaces.

I'm forever grateful to this forum as it introduced me to everything related to Chinese metaphysics. I consider myself very fortunate to have came across you, Icly, Willy, and many more knowledgeable in this forum that are always willing to help and share their knowledge. Without all of you, it would be much harder to get started. One thing that I really appreciate about this forum is the very personal attention and motivation members receive.

I believe there is so much to learn in Chinese metaphysics. It doesn't look like a straightforward subject.. Anything I can do to self-study at this point is very limited. But thanks to the Internet for the available resources so far :-). I'm happy whenever I manage to get some time to read about this subject. Even for my own chart, there's always something new to discover each time I look at it. Beginning of this year, I started making notes and now have a folder to keep all the notes and print-outs together Cheesy.

Left Jakarta in 2002. Before 1994, I had been living with my grandparents. I'm currently staying with my aunt (mum's sister) in Ottawa, Canada. I really hope I can complete my thesis defense by the latest next year.  Once that is done, I hope it's easier to get a job closer to home country. When you have a job, you no longer have to depend on others...also easier if I want to study something that interests me, like Chinese metaphysics for example  Wink.

Thanks ^^

Hi Ken,

Do stars like Yin Sha, Ba Zuo and Long Chi has any significance in pursuing spiritual arts? I was reading about these stars a while ago, but realize I have to build a solid understanding on the 14 major stars before I can move on to the rest  Smiley.

Hi leecarrot,

I do not usually use Ba Zuo and Long Chi to interpret.  There are 100 over stars in ZWDS, and these are minor stars.  I do understand some other schools practice reading all the minor stars too but I rather put the time memorizing minor stars to other use.  The Yin Sha is your channel link to the spiritual world.  That was one of the reason why I asked about your date and time of birth as I wanted to observe where is this star.

Hi Leecarrot,

For discussion purpose, long chi star is known for its 'elegance' and more often used to evaluate personal fame and career progression. I do know that there are people who will select the direction of their long chi star to practise qi gong in the belief that it actually enhance one 's spiritual learning. It is likewise for Ba Zuo which is believed to be able to enhance one 's cultivation level.

I personally do not have such a practise but if anyone has heard of it before, feel free to share.  Wink

Hi Ken & Willy,

Thanks a lot for the clarification ^_^.  I have to be grateful knowing this...My own spiritual experience has not grown yet, but I'm looking forward to more opportunity in the future. There must be combination of stars that make the spiritual connection more obvious in some cases. I was thinking my uncle might have them too, as he's very into Buddhism (long time ago, he was in Thailand to experience life as a monk for a short period). He also told about several encounters with the spirits.

So out of curiosity, I plotted my cousin's chart (female born Oct 9, 2004, 7-9pm). Yin sha, Long chi appears together with En Guang, San Tai & major stars Qi Sha, Wen Chang at her parent's palace. It's a quick way, but can be an indication... I understand it won't be as simple as that, especially without asking directly for my uncle's chart :-).

As there are over 100 stars in ZWDS, do you think every chart is unique with different permutations?

Like myself, my 4 year old cousin has Tian Liang as the main star in her life palace. Her Tian Tong is at her travel palace instead. But she's special in her own way. At her age, she already likes to take care of other people. She's already like a big girl, more like a big sister to her older brother Smiley.

Hi Leecarrot,

Regarding your young cousin with Tian Liang, that's the characteristics of this star.  As a star that represents seniority, naturally he/she is dependable and outgrows peers of her same age in terms of maturity.  Being the old man star also means they like to take care of people, must like your grandfather or father likes to take care of you.

You can read about what I write in Tian Liang here.
http://fengshuiforward.com/forum/index.php?topic=1427.0

Ok la, since you have noticed the trend, I will tell you Yin Sha is also one of the star I look out for.

As for the problem of 100 over star and their 100*100 star combinations, I prefer to use the Northern School method of Flying the Stars to cut down memory work.  A lot of what you read on internet are predominantly Southern School method.  It was rumoured there were 2 manuals of ZWDS in the Imperial Library.  One of them was stolen and is the copy circulated to the commoners and practised by the Southern School.  As for the other manual, it remained in the Imperial Library and practised exclusively by the Imperial Astrologer and court and is today the Northern School of ZWDS.

HI Ken & everyone,

Thank you for the link. It's very interesting to know there are two schools of different methods in ZWDS. For the 100*100 stars in ZWDS combination, I agree memory work has to be cut down. Understanding the bigger picture and how stars in different palaces are interrelated is more crucial for a sound reading.

What you wrote about Tian Liang describes my little cousin very well. Her maturity outgrows peers of her same age. On the other hand, my Tian Liang is placed together with Tian Tong. That seems contradicting each other Wink. Tian Tong is child-like, but Tian Liang also represents seniority. I guess that's why a lot of people think I'm rather child-like, even though Tian Liang (Lu) is brighter in the chart. Lu is also considered not auspicious when attached with Tian Liang, but hope it is not really the case in the modern society.

Thanks again, Ken for all the responses so far Smiley
Best regards
