Dear Master Ken & Colleagues,

In most Chinese homes the praying alter in placed in the lounge room or facing the main door situated  the near centre ofthe house and since it is an alter it would be regarded as a fire element. However in 2010 the star 8 resides in the centre so may I kindly ask how would such houses handle the conflict of elements - do we introduce internal water feature leave it out completely to make use of the star 8.

Thank you

Hi pearl,

I was a little bit confused by your question when I first read it.  After reading it second time, my guess is you assumed that to activate any star you use water and then having the fire in the centre, means you cannot activate the auspicious star 8?

If that's the case, then you made the following mistakes:

1) Water activates Facing Star.  This is annual star, it does not follow strictly the method of activating Facing Star nor Sitting Star.

2) Most practitioners take the view that centre palace Flying star cannot be activated.

3) Star 8 is Earth in nature.  Center Palace is Earth in nature.  It does not  hurt to have Fire.

Dear Master Ken,

Thank you for the clarification about the annual 8 star in Geng Yin year.

Kind regards,
