How to define compass direction

Hi,
I want to ask about the direction in compass. The case is if there is a male with kua number 2 then his best direction is North East and his worst direction is North. How to define North, what is the range degree of North? Is North North East (NNE) good or bad for this male?

360 degrees divided by 8 gives us 45 degrees. North is naturally define as 0 degree.  Hence 22.5 degree clockwise and anticlockwise will still be within North.  ie 347.5 to 22.5 degrees.  However, there is an area near the boundary that in FS is considered void.  This is 2.5 degrees at each border

which sector & direction should be chosen?
(since there is no one sector that can cater for both numbers)
if male is breadwinner, should sector & direction follow what is suitable for male?

It is a common concern.

If the house suits one partner, or the bedroom sector suits one then bed facing might be arranged to suit the other. Seek balance.
Further, not all the "good" sectors or directions for any one person are useful and not all the "bad" ones have any power. So sometimes that information can be used as well to decide on how to mix Main Door, Bedroom Location, Bedroom Door, individual facing etc.

Can u elaborate on "not all the good sectors or directions for any one person are useful"?
Does it refers to times when one is going thru bad combinations in bazi (annual or ten year pillar) & good sectors are not useful?

As for the 3 mountains, if one direction among the 3 is found to be suitable but the orientation is not perpendicular to wall,
does it matter?
I read somewhere that bed have to be placed perpendicular to wall for support.

Each of the eight sectors is related to a Star and its normal element. So for example, sheng qi is 3-Wood.
When your sheng qi is found in the N or E or SE it is strong, but when found in the S (fire) or W or NW (Metal) it is feeble.
By the same logic, the "bad" sectors may be docile or angry depending on whether they are in a sector that is controlling them or one that welcomes them.

In fact the 8 mansions 4 good/bad locations had been inaccurately implied. All locations can be used. The question is how to use the 4 so called bad locations?

Whereas for contradictory Gua person, no worry. As long as the location of the bedroom is correct, you have nothing to worry about contradictory Life Gua.
