Hi all.

Could anyone explain to me or give me a definition on certain terms I see in bazi analysis'

Tomb of wood - what does this mean and how do you get it?

Red Chamber - same here, what does this mean

Spouse Palace - is this basically the branch in the day pillar?  does every other element in every pillar affect it or just the daymaster?

Thanks for anyone who can help

Hi Ian

Tomb of wood - refers to a term inside the concept of 12 stages of growth.  It is hypothesized that each of the 10 Heavenly Stem element will attain a certain stage of growth at each Earthly Branch phase.  Tomb stage is usually after the peak and quite near the bottom.  For example, Jia Wood achieves Tomb stage at Wei Earthy Branch phase.

Red Chamber - is one of the deity under the Auxiliary Star system indicating romance.  Note that there are a lot of stars in the Auxiliary Star system, some of which of not easy to incorpoate into chart reading.  The Auxiiliary Star system is more an add-on system than the main Bazi system.

Spouse palace - yes you are right.  All will affect the day branch element although the strong effect comes from day element, hour and month branch.

Ok, not sure I understand.  You are saying yang wood (or Jia) on a sheep (wei) would be a tomb?  Could you give me one or two more examples because I have no idea...

right so I guess red chamber isn't so important to know if its not directly related to bazi...

Thanks for the reply.
Do you mean the spouse palace is most affected by the day master (or day element), hour pillar and month branch?

I understand the 12 Qi Phases now but I had to look elsewhere to find out what you were referring to.

There is something about the 12 Qi Phases that doesn't make sense.  Why is there an stem for all 12 branches?  Hai would never have Jia, Ren, Bing, We and Geng for example so there would be no need for 12 stages but only 6.

i dont know if i could understand what your question, but to answer you "why there is a steam for all 12 branches"

thats to give the enegry in the branches, thats the short answer.

sorry i dont get your question properly, so i answer based on my understanding of your question.

Unfortunately the website wont allow me to attach a screen capture of the 12 qi phases.  I could explain my enquiry easier that way.  Also, I made a silly typo.  I don't want to know about the 'steam'  I meant to type stem.

If you look at the chart, there is a 12 stage progression for each of the 10 elements.

However, not all 12 of the branches will ever combine with an element.

Let's look at Jia.  In the birth stage we see Pig/Hai.  But there will never be a yang wood pig. there will only ever be a yin wood pig in the four pillars.  So why do they even include all twelve in the stage progression?

hello

oh ok, i think i got your point. As you see there would never be a Yang Wood pig, yes correct. Because Pig is on the Branches and  wood is on the HS.

So, HS and EB cant combine unless the element inside the EB combine with other  EB

12 Life stages basically is a cycle of energy that can give power to your DM If you're reside in let say ChangSeng,  and can help to determine if certain condition can brings love, or money or etc just by looking at the 12 life stages.
