It is most useful for people who constantly had their Chinese name put into use be it in writing or addressing them.  Even in writing, there's a limit to how much you can get people to write your name. 

What about leaving the chinese character name in our email signature, so that people will get to see it often?

Hi pentan,

It should have some impact whenever that person reads your Chinese name signature.  However, if you send it to someone who does not understand Chinese, then it is futile.  Wink
