I do not encourage people that born in the same year or same DM get together. The reason is they will enjoy if that year is good year and suffer bad luck when that year is bad.

For example, if both of you are Geng Metal DM and both born in Goat Year, then in 2009 both of you will suffer from bad luck. If you are having different DM, at least when you are bad luck your spouse can support you.

Another example, if both you divorce and both want to win the custody of your son. I bet your spouse will fight with you due to both of you are same DM and both of your desires are same. Both of you want to win. End up who will be the loser?

I tend to see more similar but not identical personalities getting together.  Similar personalities usually are attracted to each other due to the ease experienced when being together.  Not identical perhaps it would have made relationships too bland.

Hmm i got both my bf's chart and my chart calculated.. We are attracted becoz of lack elements in our chart. He attracted by me bcoz i can help him in somtin.. as for me.. I not very sure..

But i believe, opp attracts due to certain elements are lacked and hence, together to fufill each others' needs..

Hi everyone.  I am a very new poster who has studied Chinese Astrology, Feng Shui, BaZi/Four Pillars of Destiny and a bit of BaGua.

This topic of opposites attract had me thinking about my relationships and other peoples.

For a long time I was constantly checking out Fortuneangel to see what peoples year, month, day ad sometimes hour were and I have noticed lost of many different things.

I am born in the day of the fire goat and I was shocked to see that the women who found me attractive and actively chased after me were born in the day of the Ox.  My gut feeling always told me they didn't feel suitable but the enjoyment of being chased by them made me succumb.  The relationships never worked very good and it makes me wonder why people seem to get into such incompatible relationships.

I knew a couple who had a very incompatible looking chart
He was Year Earth Snake, Month Metal Sheep and Day Metal horse (I say was because he dies in Iraq war recently)
She is Year Earth Snake, Month Fire Ox and Day Metal Snake.

How incompatibel is that?

Attraction is shown in example for instance when someone likes spicy food even if it gives him the run of stomach.

Compatibility is in example when spicy food is suited to this person's body constitution and brings him benefits, irregardless of whether he likes spicy food.

Affinity is when somehow, without conscious effort to look for it, this person always ends up with spicy food served to him.

Most people react naturally to atraction and affinity and hence end up with partners that most times are not compatible. 

As for the 2 examples you cited, it does not look very compatible but still, the hour pillar may have made some difference.

Very interesting philosophy you put across there.  I'm surprised I never saw it that way or maybe I did but you described it very well.

Out of curiosity, do you condone the validity/reliability of the fortuneangel.com website?
It is a website rich in information but when it comes down to the match1 or match2 link I do beg to differ on the results.

I have many many questions Ken so I hope you are prepared to see my name pop up a lot in the next few months.  I can tell you are very wise and knowledgable in this subject.

I have many other friends on tribe.net and we are all trying to work out chinese astrology and all the other similar schools of thought.

Thanks.  I may sound a tad too boastful but I believe my way of making people understand abstract but critical concepts in destiny analysis is very effective.

I did not visit this fortuneangel site, perhaps you can share a little bit more about what are their concepts or arguments?

I will be glad to answer your doubts or queries.  Feel free to ask but I have to qualify that my response may be a little bit slow.  I will also be keen to help make your stay here interesting and improve your grasp of Chinese metaphysics.

I will be sure to keep the questions coming Ken.  I just need to work out where to place the questions or whether to find an appropriate thread for the question.

For instance, fortuneangel mentions a 'power of three' or 'trio power' when you have three pillars containing pig, goat, rabbit or dragon, rat, monkey or horse, dog, tiger or ox, snake, rooster. 
There is also another power of three like pig, rat, ox (or is it rat, ox, tiger?) but I can't tell  if it is a lucky date or a lucky chart for a person.

Perhaps I should make a new thread for everyone to answer too.

Power of tree basically comes about because certain elements by nature have a synergistic effect when coming together. All such elements can be classifed under 4 groups of trio and each group forms a Wood, Water, Fire and Metal combination or framework.

I would not say elements in the same group definitely bring better luck to each other although there is an inherent tendency to be attracted to each other to combine.
