Yes. But the acupuncture studies are not completely finished yes, there is the practical exam and a month in Vietnam for practice before I am finished. So future is going to be more acupuncture, less programming and some astrology i hope Astrology is more of a occasional hobby /Peter

Hi peter,
So are you becoming a practitioner in acupuncture soon? Is there an accreditation for your acupuncture course?

Yes soon.
What do you mean by accreditation?
We do one theoretical and one practical test and then we need 150 hours of practice with an other acupuncturist. If that is what you mean.
Otherwise, the school is apporved by the acupuncture organization yes.

Hi Devadog
I've Peter Leung's notes on the DM strength calculation. The formula appears concentrate on quantity of elements notwithstanding that he allocates weightage to the elements by taking into account of the stage of each element during the season of birth. I guess he weight the season of birth highly.
However, Joey yap discourage ones to use mathemactical formula in the assessment of the strength of DM. Although, he also made reference to the season of month of birth, but he also analysis the roots of the EB to see if there is any element that penetrates to heaven (present as both the hidden stem and heavenly stem).
What's your view of this?
Thanks Regards Jiayaocai

I find these calculators are helpful to me in getting a sense of the relative weight of the five elements. But that is all. They do not consider whether the DM is rooted, or whether transformations are taking place, or the effects of internal clashes, etc. So the calculators alone cannot provide an analysis. (Whether or not they really add to our understanding or distract us I suppose depends on the individual using them) We still have to apply ourselves.

Hi devadog
I agree with you. However, to the beginner, this calculator is still serve as basic guidance at least they have a rough idea how to derive the strength until they are moving to advance level.
Indeed, the guidelines that I have wrote in this forum is also for surface understanding. Different academy will have different approach as well.
Sometimes, I am confused if I should remove that BaZi Fundamental section. However, I trust that the forumers are smart enough to know when it is time for them to drop the basic guidance when they are moving to advance level.

thanks for both formula.
i have been searching and i don't quite understand. if a chart is weak, ow to strengthen such that can harness wealth?
also, i read that bing fire cannot be strengthen by wood in joey yap's book? coz bing fire is like sun, so sun cannot use wood to strengthen. am i righ tto say if weak bing DM, can only use fire to strengthen?

Hi pills,
In a general case, assistance is usually required from Rob Wealth or Parallel. However sometimes the structure and composition of the chart may vary that they could even use Resource.
Fire is generally better for a weak Bing DM. Whether wood can be used will depend on existence of other elements.
