Hi Master

Does one new luck pillar starts from Feb 4 (based on the Chinese Solar Calendar) or his/her next birth date? E.g. The person birth day is July 4th and he is about to enter his new luck pillar in 2009. Does his new luck pillar starts on July 4, 2009 or Feb 4, 2009 which is the start of the new solar calendar?

TQ

Hi AL,

That's the part that usually you have to be careful about.

Your birth chart calculations all take reference to your birthday and not the year in question.

So when you are reading for yourself or people, do be mindful of the change over in luck pillar and year elements during the year.

For example if current luck pillar is Jia Yin and changes to Yi Mao this year and your birthdate is 15th day of Wei month, the influence on his chart this year would be Ji Chou and Jia Yin at 4th Feb 2009 and Ji Chou and Yin Mao after the 15th day of Wei month in Ji Chou year.

Hi pentan,

Yes.  But do check if the software or website you reference to, uses Chinese age 虛歲 or already converted it to English age.

Hi Ken Smiley

When a decade for a DM is about to change, it changes on the person's birthday?

Love,
